I just realized that I’ve referenced two books by Father Donald H. Calloway, MIC1, in my first five posts. And in both cases I was pulling quotes from St. Peter Julian Eymard.
I benefitted a lot by going through Fr. Calloway’s Consecration to St. Joseph. In that book, a lot of the quotes from St. Eymard really stuck with me, even though he was a saint I was unfamiliar with. Here is one example – Fr. Calloway featured this one on the inside front cover of the book:
Devotion to St. Joseph is one of the choicest graces that God can give to a soul, for it is tantamount to revealing the entire treasury of our Lord’s graces. When God wishes to raise a soul to greater heights, he unites it to St. Joseph by giving it a strong love for the good saint.
And when I finished the book, it was St. Eymard’s daily and annual Consecration prayers that I decided to use.
St. Peter Julian Eymard, pray for us.
